On-Site ADAS Camera Calibration After Windshield Replacement
If your car has lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking or adaptive cruise control, there's likely a camera mounted behind the windshield. After a new windshield goes in, that camera usually needs to be calibrated so your safety systems see the road correctly. We calibrate it on site, right after the install — for every vehicle.
- Done on site right after your install — no dealer trip
- Static or dynamic calibration, based on your vehicle
- Usually included in the windshield insurance claim
- Factory specifications for camera aim — every vehicle

What is ADAS calibration?
ADAS stands for advanced driver-assistance systems — features like lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition. Many of them use a forward-facing camera mounted to the windshield.
Replacing the windshield moves that camera, even slightly. Calibration re-aims it to the manufacturer's specifications so the system measures distances and lane lines correctly.
Static vs. dynamic calibration
Depending on the vehicle, calibration is done one of two ways — some vehicles need both, and we do both on site:
- Static: the technician sets up precisely placed calibration targets around your vehicle and aims the camera to them.
- Dynamic: the vehicle is driven at set speeds on well-marked roads while the system recalibrates itself.
Does my car need calibration?
If you see a camera housing behind your rearview mirror, or your car has any of the features above, it probably does. Tell us your year, make and model and we'll confirm before your appointment.
Either way, you don't need a separate dealer visit: our technicians calibrate on site for all vehicles, right after your new windshield is installed.
A chip repair usually doesn't require calibration because the windshield stays in place.
Does insurance cover ADAS calibration?
When your vehicle requires it, calibration is normally part of the windshield claim. Florida law treats ADAS calibration as part of motor vehicle glass work (s. 627.7289). We confirm coverage with you before any work starts.

No. We calibrate on site for all vehicles, right after your new windshield is installed.

If your car has a camera mounted to the windshield for features like lane-keep assist or automatic emergency braking, usually yes. We'll confirm based on your year, make and model.
Does insurance pay for windshield camera calibration in Florida?
When your vehicle requires it, calibration is normally included in the windshield claim. We confirm coverage before any work starts.
What happens if I skip calibration?
A misaligned camera can misread lane lines or misjudge distances, which can make safety features act late, early or not at all.
Does chip repair require calibration?
Usually not, because the windshield and camera aren't moved during a repair.
