Features built into BMW windshields
Depending on the model and options, a BMW windshield may include a camera mount for Driving Assistant features, a rain and light sensor, acoustic interlayer and a special zone for the head-up display. The wrong glass can cause a blurry or doubled head-up image, so we always match by VIN.
Calibration on site
Lane departure warning, frontal collision warning and active cruise features rely on the windshield camera. We calibrate it on site right after the install.
Is BMW windshield replacement covered by insurance?
Usually, yes. If your auto policy was issued in Florida and includes comprehensive coverage, Florida Statute 627.7288 says the deductible doesn't apply to windshield damage — so a new windshield for your BMW is typically $0, with camera calibration normally included in the claim when your vehicle needs it.
You also choose the shop: under s. 627.7291 your insurer can't require a particular glass company. Want to know what it costs without coverage? See our windshield replacement cost guide.
Why we ask for your VIN
The same model can use several different windshields depending on year and options — camera brackets, rain and light sensors, heated or acoustic glass, and head-up display zones. Your VIN tells us exactly which one your BMW needs, so we bring the right glass the first time.
BMW windshield FAQ
Is BMW windshield replacement free in Florida?
If your auto policy was issued in Florida and includes comprehensive coverage, yes, typically. Florida Statute 627.7288 says the deductible doesn't apply to windshield damage, and camera calibration is normally part of the windshield claim when your vehicle needs it.
Do you calibrate BMW cameras on site?
Yes. If your BMW has a camera behind the windshield, we calibrate it on site right after the new windshield is installed — no dealer visit needed.
How long does a BMW windshield replacement take?
Most replacements take about 60–90 minutes, plus calibration time when needed. Your technician will tell you the safe drive-away time for the adhesive used.
Will my BMW head-up display work with the new windshield?
Yes, with the correct HUD-compatible glass. We match your windshield by VIN so the head-up image stays sharp.
